Hi! I'm Juandi, a passionate movie lover kid stuck in a grown man's body. 

I'm a Senior Environment Surfacing Artist working in animation features.

Since I was a child, I wanted to work in movies. It was 1993 when I saw a giant T-Rex under the rain scaring some kids, a monster that wasn't really there, but created with computers and movie magic, and I said “I want to do that for a living”.

For years, that thought belonged to the realm of unreachable dreams, until I went to Madrid to study 3D at U-Tad and started my career at Ilion Animation Studios.

Since then, 2014, I have been working on Hollywood features and shorts, both at Ilion and Skydance Animation Studios, surrounded by the best of the best in the animation industry, like John Lasseter.

My expertise lies in Surfacing, Texturing, and shading, and everything related to bringing assets and environments to life by creating materials in a wide array of styles, from stylized and cartoony to photorealistic.

I love my job, it's been more than a decade and to this day, I'm still that kid amazed by the magic of movies, strugling to realize that I'm finally part of it.
